Retains foliage through winter. Can be planted in mild winter periods.
Most succulents thrive in full sun in NE Florida; site in a location with at least 6 hours of direct sun, preferably morning sun with protection from the most intense afternoon rays to prevent leaf scorch on tender varieties.
Water deeply but infrequently — allow soil to dry completely between waterings. In NE Florida's summer rainy season, ensure containers or beds drain freely to prevent root rot, which is the most common succulent killer in Florida's humid climate.
Plant in coarse, fast-draining sandy or cactus mix; never in heavy clay or moisture-retentive soil. Apply a balanced water-soluble fertilizer at half-strength once or twice during the growing season (spring through early fall).
