Bloom season. Retains foliage through winter. Can be planted in mild winter periods.
In NE Florida, grow jade plant in bright indirect light or morning sun with afternoon shade. Avoid intense all-day sun which can scorch leaves; an enclosed porch or sheltered patio location is ideal.
Water sparingly — allow soil to dry completely between waterings. In NE Florida's rainy season, excellent drainage is critical to prevent root rot; container growing is strongly recommended over planting in ground.
Use a gritty, fast-draining succulent or cactus mix. Fertilize sparingly with a balanced fertilizer diluted to half strength in spring and summer only; overfertilizing causes weak, leggy growth.
