Graptopetalum paraguayense
Fresh this week. Last restocked Mar 4.
Ghost plant (Graptopetalum paraguayense) is a hardy succulent forming cascading rosettes of thick, fleshy leaves that shift from pale blue-gray in shade to yellow-pink in full sun. Hardy to zone 9b outdoors, it makes an excellent groundcover, container spiller, or rock garden plant in NE Florida's sandy, well-drained soil. Starting at $12.95.
Ghost plant thrives in full sun to part sun; full sun produces the best pink and yellow color, while shade causes a blue-gray palette. In NE Florida's summer heat, part sun (morning sun, afternoon shade) is acceptable but full sun is preferred.
Extremely drought-tolerant once established; water only when soil is completely dry. In NE Florida's rainy season, plant in a raised bed or container with excellent drainage to prevent crown and root rot.
Plant in sandy, very well-drained soil or a cactus/succulent mix in containers; NE Florida's sandy soil is ideal. No fertilizer needed; excess nutrients cause soft, rot-prone growth.
