Creeping raspberry grows in full sun to part shade; in NE Florida's intense summer heat, afternoon shade helps prevent drought stress on this temperate groundcover which is at its hardiness limit in zone 9b.
Moderate water needs; tolerates drought once established in well-drained soil but benefits from consistent moisture in summer. Avoid waterlogging, which causes root rot.
Prefers sandy or loamy, well-drained soil. Apply a balanced slow-release fertilizer in spring. In zone 9b, plant in a raised bed or elevated site with good drainage and air circulation to maximize survivability.
