Retains foliage through winter.
Confederate jasmine performs well in full sun to partial shade in northeast Florida; in Zone 9b, afternoon shade can reduce heat stress without sacrificing bloom. Full sun produces the most abundant flowering.
Drought-tolerant once established; water regularly during the first growing season. Mature plants in Zone 9b require supplemental irrigation only during extended dry periods. Avoid waterlogged soil.
Grows well in sandy or loamy, well-drained soil. Fertilize once in early spring with a balanced slow-release fertilizer to support vigorous growth. Avoid high-phosphorus formulas; this vine is a strong grower and needs minimal feeding once established.

Shares 5 of the same needs: full sun, low water, sandy, zone 9a hardiness, and pollinator-friendly.
