Retains foliage through winter.
Plant Senna in full sun for best flowering; it is well-adapted to Northeast Florida's heat and requires at least 6 hours of direct sun daily.
Drought-tolerant once established; water during dry spells in the first season to establish deep roots. Mature plants rarely need supplemental irrigation in NE Florida's summer rainfall pattern.
Adaptable to sandy or loamy, well-drained soils typical of Northeast Florida; tolerates poor fertility. Fertilize lightly in spring with a balanced slow-release fertilizer. If frosted back, cut stems to the ground — vigorous regrowth will follow in spring.
