Bloom season. May lose some foliage in cold snaps.
Plant in full sun for best flowering; tolerates partial shade but bloom production is significantly reduced. In NE Florida, full sun exposure promotes the nearly year-round flowering that makes this plant a landscape standout.
Drought tolerant once established; water regularly during establishment. Requires excellent drainage — does not tolerate soggy soil. Reduce watering in winter months to help harden the plant against occasional cold snaps.
Thrives in well-drained sandy to loamy Florida soils; does not tolerate wet feet. Fertilize with a balanced palm/tropical shrub fertilizer 2–3 times per year during the growing season. Avoid over-fertilizing with nitrogen, which can reduce flowering.
