Peregrina or spicy jatropha (Jatropha integerrima) is a fast-growing tropical evergreen shrub or small tree from Cuba and Hispaniola, blooming nearly year-round with vivid clusters of star-shaped red to coral-pink flowers beloved by butterflies and hummingbirds. It is drought tolerant and thrives in NE Florida's heat and sun; protect from hard freezes as plants are marginal in zone 9b.
