Yucca filamentosa
Fresh this week. Last restocked Jun 15.
Adam's Needle (Yucca filamentosa) is a native southeastern US evergreen perennial forming a bold, low rosette of stiff, sword-like leaves with curly white filaments along the margins. In summer, mature plants send up dramatic 4–8-foot spikes of nodding, creamy-white bell-shaped flowers pollinated by yucca moths. Its drought tolerance and ability to thrive in NE Florida's sandy soils make it an ideal accent plant for xeriscape and coastal gardens. Starting at $9.95.

Retains foliage through winter.
Yucca filamentosa thrives in full sun and requires a minimum of 6 hours of direct sunlight daily in NE Florida; it can tolerate light shade but produces fewer flowers and looser rosettes when sited in part shade.
Highly drought tolerant once established; water sparingly and only when the soil is fully dry. In NE Florida's sandy soils, overwatering or poor drainage is the leading cause of decline — ensure excellent drainage at planting.
Plant in well-drained to dry sandy soil, which is common throughout NE Florida; yucca will not tolerate wet or clay-heavy soils. No regular fertilization is needed; excessive nutrients promote rank, floppy foliage. Remove spent flower stalks after bloom.
