Prunus cerasifera
Fresh this week. Last restocked Mar 11.
Purple Leaf Plum is a small, fast-growing deciduous tree prized for its deep reddish-purple foliage and fragrant pink spring flowers that emerge before the leaves. Note: UF/IFAS rates this cultivar only to zone 8A; it is marginally suited for NE Florida zone 9b and may perform poorly in our heat and humidity. Starting at $124.95.
Plant in full sun for richest purple foliage color and best flowering; at least 6 hours of direct sun is required.
Water regularly during establishment; once established, moderate irrigation is sufficient, but avoid soggy or waterlogged soils. Drought stress causes leaf scorch.
Prefers well-drained loamy or sandy soils; avoid alkaline pH. Fertilize lightly in spring with a balanced slow-release fertilizer. Not suited for heavy clay or wet sites.

Shares 4 of the same needs: full sun, moderate water, loam, and pollinator-friendly.
