Ideal planting window.
Retains foliage through winter. May need protection below 25°F.
Majesty palm prefers full sun to partial shade. In Northeast Florida, plant in a sheltered, warm microclimate (south-facing wall or structure) to provide frost protection during cold snaps.
Majesty palm has high water needs — keep soil consistently moist. In NE-FL's sandy, fast-draining soils, water frequently and mulch the root zone deeply; do not allow the root ball to dry out.
Plant in moist, well-drained, slightly acidic loam amended with organic matter. Apply a palm-specific slow-release fertilizer (with magnesium and micronutrients) three times per year to prevent common deficiency symptoms in Florida soils.
