Wood Vamp thrives in partial shade to part sun, mirroring its native habitat of swamp edges and forested stream banks. Avoid harsh afternoon sun in NE Florida; dappled or morning light is ideal.
This native vine prefers consistently moist to occasionally wet soil. Water regularly and deeply, especially during establishment. Once established, it tolerates brief dry periods but performs best with dependable moisture near pond edges or in low-lying areas.
Plant in moist, acidic, organic-rich sandy or loamy soil. Enrich sandy NE Florida soils with compost or leaf litter at planting. No regular fertilization is required for established plants in suitable sites.
