Fresh this week. Last restocked Apr 17.
Clivia (Clivia miniata) is a South African perennial producing arching, strap-like dark green leaves and bold clusters of funnel-shaped flowers in orange, red, or yellow atop stout stems. It thrives in shaded conditions and blooms reliably in late winter to spring. A long-lived, clumping accent plant for shaded borders and containers. Starting at $59.95.

Bloom season. Retains foliage through winter.
Clivia requires bright filtered light or dappled shade — direct sun scorches its leaves. In NE Florida, plant under tree canopy or on the north or east side of a structure; morning light is acceptable but shield from harsh afternoon sun.
Water generously spring through summer, then reduce significantly in fall and winter to allow a dry rest period that triggers blooming. Clivia's fleshy roots store water and are prone to rot if kept continuously wet.
Plant in coarse, very well-drained soil — an orchid-type or gritty loam mix is ideal, as the semi-epiphytic roots need good air circulation. Fertilize with a balanced liquid fertilizer monthly spring through summer; withhold fall through winter to encourage bloom.
