Allamanda schottii
Fresh this week. Last restocked Mar 25.
Bush Allamanda (Allamanda schottii) is a compact tropical shrub bearing clusters of bright yellow trumpet flowers for much of the warm season. In NE Florida (zone 9b) it is best grown in containers and overwintered frost-free, as it is reliably hardy only in zones 10–11; note that UF/IFAS rates it a high invasion risk. Starting at $14.95.
Requires full sun (6+ hours daily) for prolific flowering; in NE Florida it grows best in containers so it can be moved inside when temperatures drop below 45°F.
Water regularly, allowing soil to dry slightly between waterings; avoid overwatering — allamanda drops leaves when stressed by either drought or waterlogging.
Plant in fertile, moist, well-drained sandy or loamy soil; fertilize three times per year (spring, summer, fall) with a quality granular fertilizer to sustain heavy flowering.
