Fresh this week. Last restocked Mar 11.
Winged Elm (Ulmus alata) is a native deciduous tree distinguished by the distinctive corky, wing-like ridges that develop along its smaller branches. A member of the elm family, it produces small papery samaras in early spring and provides attractive fine-textured canopy in landscapes. Starting at $24.95.
Bloom season. New foliage emerges. Good planting window.
Handles summer heat well once established.

Dormant — drops foliage. Can be planted in mild winter periods.
Winged Elm thrives in full sun to partial shade and is well-adapted to NE Florida's heat. Plant in full sun for the densest canopy; it tolerates the partial shade of surrounding structures without significant loss of vigor.
Moderately drought-tolerant once established. Water regularly during the first two growing seasons to develop a strong root system. Mature trees benefit from occasional deep irrigation during NE Florida's dry season to maintain canopy health.
Highly adaptable to sandy, clay, loamy, acidic, or alkaline soils — one of its key advantages as a NE Florida shade or street tree. Fertilize young trees once a year with a balanced slow-release formula; established trees rarely need supplemental fertilization.
