Leavenworth's Tickseed (Coreopsis leavenworthii), Florida's state wildflower, is a native annual or short-lived perennial producing masses of bright golden-yellow daisy flowers with dark centers from late spring through fall. It thrives in full sun in NE Florida's sandy flatwoods and meadows, reseeding freely to naturalize in the garden.

Thrives in NE Florida's typical sandy, acidic soils with no amendments or fertilizer needed; lean, well-drained to seasonally moist soils mimic its natural flatwoods habitat and produce the strongest, most upright plants.
