Borrichia frutescens
Fresh this week. Last restocked Mar 11.
Sea Oxeye Daisy (Borrichia frutescens) is a native perennial shrub of coastal Florida and the southeastern US, forming dense, woody mounds of silvery-green, fleshy leaves along saltmarsh edges, dunes, and tidal flats. It produces cheerful yellow daisy-like flowers nearly year-round in South Florida, attracting native bees and butterflies. One of the toughest native plants for coastal landscapes, it tolerates salt spray, flooding, and poor sandy soils with exceptional resilience. Starting at $9.95.

Retains foliage through winter.
Sea oxeye daisy thrives in full sun in NE Florida. It tolerates only minimal shade; more shade reduces flowering and promotes leggy growth. A sun-drenched coastal setting is ideal.
Prefers moist to wet conditions — it is found naturally in saltmarsh and tidal flat edges. In NE Florida landscapes, low to moderate irrigation is appropriate; it tolerates occasional flooding and salt water inundation but also withstands short dry spells once established.
Grows in sandy, alkaline, or moist coastal soils, including periodically flooded areas — quite tolerant of poor drainage unlike most coastal natives. Minimal fertilizer is needed; excess nutrients are unnecessary in coastal NE Florida soils. It spreads aggressively by suckers so site accordingly.
