Blue Sky Vine or Bengal Clockvine (Thunbergia grandiflora) is a vigorous tropical twining vine from India, producing large, sky-blue to lavender trumpet-shaped flowers with a pale yellow throat in hanging clusters. It climbs rapidly and blooms prolifically in warm weather, making it one of the most impressive flowering vines for tropical landscapes.

Grow Blue Sky Vine in full sun for maximum flowering; part sun is tolerated but reduces bloom production. Provide a sturdy trellis, fence, or pergola — this vine climbs by twining and grows aggressively in NE Florida's warm climate.
Water regularly during establishment; once established, moderate irrigation is sufficient. This vine is vigorous in Florida's heat and humidity — avoid overwatering in heavy soils. In zone 9b, tops may die back in a hard freeze but roots typically resprout in spring.
Plant in well-drained sandy or loamy soil. Apply a balanced slow-release fertilizer in spring to encourage growth. Prune hard after flowering or in late winter to keep this vigorous vine in bounds — it can overwhelm nearby plants and structures. Note: UF/IFAS flags Thunbergia grandiflora as potentially invasive in Florida; monitor carefully to prevent spread into natural areas.
