Coral Honeysuckle (Lonicera sempervirens) is a native evergreen twining vine of the eastern US, bearing slender, unscented tubular flowers in vivid coral-red to orange with yellow interiors. Bloom season.
Ideal planting window.
Retains foliage through winter.
Grows best in full sun for maximum flowering; tolerates part sun though blooms will be reduced. Full sun also helps prevent the fungal issues that can arise in humid NE Florida conditions.
Moderate water needs; tolerates brief drought once established on most Florida soils. Avoid wet, poorly drained sites — excessive moisture encourages root rot. No supplemental irrigation usually needed after the first season.
Adaptable to sandy, loamy, and average garden soils with good drainage. Fertilize lightly in spring with a balanced slow-release formula; over-fertilizing promotes excessive vegetative growth at the expense of flowers.

Shares 6 of the same needs: similar light, moderate water, loam, salt tolerance, zone 9a hardiness, and pollinator-friendly.
