Fresh this week. Last restocked Jun 15.
Strawberry bush (Euonymus americanus) is a native deciduous shrub from the eastern United States, best known for its remarkable warty, hot-pink seed capsules that split open in fall to reveal bright orange-red seeds that hang on slender threads. It grows naturally in moist woodland understories and is a striking native ornamental for shade gardens. Starting at $24.95.

Strawberry bush thrives in part shade to full shade in NE Florida, naturally growing in moist woodland understories under tree canopies. It will tolerate partial sun if soil moisture is maintained, but direct afternoon sun in Florida's heat causes stress.
This native prefers consistently moist soil and has minimal drought tolerance. Water regularly during dry periods and apply mulch to conserve moisture; it performs best near naturalized moist or riparian areas in NE Florida landscapes.
Plant in moist, humus-rich, acidic soil — sandy to clay-loam all acceptable provided moisture is consistent. Fertilizer needs are minimal; a light application of slow-release balanced fertilizer in early spring is sufficient. Heavy mulching mimics its natural forest-floor conditions and reduces maintenance.
