About Mona Lavender

Mona Lavender (Plectranthus 'Mona Lavender') is a Florida-Friendly perennial recognized as a Florida Nursery, Growers and Landscape Association Plant of the Year. It produces rich purple flower spikes from fall through spring in NE Florida, with glossy dark green leaves purple-tinged beneath. Hardy in zone 9a–11b, it excels in shaded garden beds, containers, and hanging baskets. Starting at $6.95.

Light

Mona Lavender performs best in part shade to part sun in NE Florida. It can tolerate more sun in winter when temperatures are mild, but benefits from afternoon shade in summer to prevent wilting. More light exposure results in a more compact, floriferous plant.

Water

Keep soil consistently moist but well-drained — Mona Lavender appreciates regular watering and does not like to dry out completely. In NE Florida's warm season, check moisture frequently; reduce watering slightly in cooler winter months when growth slows.
