Retains foliage through winter.
Mandevilla needs full sun to flower prolifically. In Northeast Florida, plant in the sunniest spot available; it thrives in the region's long, hot summers and will bloom continuously from spring through fall.
Water mandevilla regularly and fertilize frequently during the growing season. Allow the top inch of soil to dry between waterings to prevent root rot; reduce watering if overwintering in a container indoors.
Plant in well-drained sandy or loamy soil. Feed with a high-phosphorus fertilizer every 2–3 weeks from spring through fall to promote continuous blooming; avoid high-nitrogen fertilizers, which favor foliage over flowers.
