Wodyetia bifurcata
Fresh this week. Last restocked Mar 11.
Foxtail Palm (Wodyetia bifurcata) is a fast-growing Australian palm prized for its full, bushy arching fronds and smooth self-cleaning trunk. Despite being marketed for Florida landscapes, UF/IFAS considers it reliably hardy only to 30°F, making it marginal in NE Florida zone 9b where freezes occur — site in a sheltered, frost-protected location or choose a more cold-hardy palm species. Starting at $99.95.

Bloom season. Can be planted with extra attention to watering.
Ideal planting window.
Retains foliage through winter. May need protection below 25°F.
Plant in full sun to part shade for best growth; foxtail palm is adaptable but grows fastest and looks best with 6+ hours of direct sun daily.
Water thoroughly at the base during establishment; once established, moderate drought-tolerance. Avoid overhead irrigation to prevent leaf spot fungus. Mulch around the base to retain soil moisture.
Plant in well-drained, slightly acidic sandy to loamy soil. Apply a slow-release palm-specific fertilizer (8-2-12 with micronutrients) three times per year to prevent potassium and magnesium deficiency, common in Florida's sandy soils.
