Solenostemon scutellarioides
Fresh this week. Last restocked Jun 19.
Coleus (Plectranthus scutellarioides) is a tropical Southeast Asian annual grown almost exclusively for its brilliantly patterned foliage in combinations of green, red, orange, yellow, pink, purple, and near-black. Its tolerance for shade and wide range of leaf patterns make it one of the most versatile foliage plants for containers and garden beds. Starting at $6.95.

Coleus thrives in partial shade to filtered sun in northeast Florida — intense afternoon sun can scorch leaves. Sun-tolerant cultivars can handle more direct light, but all appreciate morning sun with afternoon shade during summer heat.
Keep soil evenly moist; coleus wilts quickly when dry but is equally intolerant of soggy soil. In Florida's summer heat, daily watering of container plants is common. Mulch beds to retain moisture.
Grow in well-drained, organically rich soil with a pH of 5.8–6.5. Fertilize with a balanced slow-release fertilizer at planting and supplement monthly with a liquid feed; pinch flower spikes promptly to maintain foliar vigor.
