Saxifraga
Fresh this week. Last restocked Jun 15.
Saxifraga (rockfoil) is a genus of mostly alpine and cool-temperate perennials that fail in NE Florida's heat and humidity and are not zone 9b hardy outdoors. Retail customers in NE Florida should be directed to heat-tolerant alternatives. Starting at $24.95.
Saxifraga spp. are cool-temperate alpine and woodland plants fundamentally unsuited to NE Florida's heat and humidity. Outdoor cultivation in zone 9b is not recommended.
Saxifraga requires moist, gritty, well-drained soil and cool temperatures; NE Florida's summer heat and humidity cause crown rot and plant death. Not viable outdoors in zone 9b.
Prefers humusy, gritty, well-drained soil in cool climates (zones 3–7). In NE Florida this genus is not suitable for outdoor landscapes; information is provided for reference only.
