xMangave
Fresh this week. Last restocked Apr 18.
Mangave (xMangave spp.) are striking intergeneric hybrids between Manfreda and Agave, combining the drought toughness of agave with faster growth and vivid, often spotted or purple-flushed foliage. They thrive in full sun with excellent drainage and are well-suited to Northeast Florida's heat, humidity, and sandy soils. Starting at $34.95.
Grow mangave in full sun for best leaf color and compact form. In Northeast Florida's intense summer sun, it thrives without any shade, developing richer mottling and deeper pigmentation with maximum light exposure.
Mangave is highly drought tolerant once established — water sparingly and only when soil is completely dry. NE-Florida's summer rains are generally sufficient; excellent drainage is essential to prevent crown rot.
Plant in well-drained, sandy or gritty soil — Florida's naturally sandy soils are ideal. Fertilize lightly once in spring with a balanced slow-release fertilizer; avoid overfeeding, which softens the foliage and reduces drought hardiness.
