Bloom season. Ideal planting window.
Retains foliage through winter.
Requires full sun — at least 6–8 hours daily. Performs exceptionally well in Florida's intense heat and light; plants in shade produce poor blooms and become leggy.
Highly drought-tolerant once established; water sparingly to avoid root rot in Florida's sandy soils. Do not overwater — allow soil to dry between waterings. No supplemental irrigation needed after establishment.
Plant in well-drained, even infertile sandy soil — excellent for Florida's coastal and inland sandy landscapes. Little to no fertilizer needed; excess nitrogen reduces flowering. Deadhead spent blooms to prolong the season.
