Eragrostis elliottii
Fresh this week. Last restocked Apr 13.
A native Florida ornamental bunchgrass with fine, stiff, arching foliage that forms dense tufts. The delicate, wispy autumn inflorescences create a misty, cloud-like effect above the foliage. Starting at $9.95.
Provide full sun for best performance; Elliott's Lovegrass tolerates only very light shade and becomes sparse and less attractive in shadier sites. In NE Florida's sandy landscapes, full sun positions allow it to form dense, attractive clumps.
Extremely drought-tolerant once established — water only during the first few weeks after planting to aid rooting. Avoid regular irrigation after establishment; watering more than once a week can kill this grass. It thrives on Florida's natural rainfall.
Grows best in dry, well-drained sandy or loamy soils typical of NE Florida. No fertilizer is needed; this native grass thrives in low-nutrient conditions. Avoid organic-rich amended soils that retain moisture, which can lead to rot.
