Fresh this week. Last restocked Apr 14.
Rattlesnake Master (Eryngium yuccifolium) is a bold evergreen native perennial with strap-like, yucca-like basal leaves and spherical silvery-white flower heads on tall stems in summer. A superb pollinator plant documented to attract over 180 insect species, it is well-suited to NE Florida dry meadows and pollinator gardens in full sun. Starting at $9.95.
Good planting window.
Bloom season. Handles summer heat well once established.
Ideal planting window.
Retains foliage through winter.
Plant in full sun; at least 6 hours of direct sun is needed for compact upright growth and reliable flowering. Will tolerate brief partial shade but becomes floppy.
Drought tolerant once established; water weekly when young, then reduce to once or twice per month. Avoid wet or poorly drained sites — root rot is the primary failure mode.
Prefers lean, well-drained sandy or loamy soil; does not require fertilization. Excellent native choice for NE Florida dry flatwoods or meadow gardens. No pruning is needed — leave the dramatic basal rosette intact year-round.
