Grow in full sun to high shifting shade for best flowering. In NE Florida, at least 6 hours of direct sun is ideal; blooming may be reduced in shadier conditions.
Keep soil consistently moist but well-drained; never allow to become waterlogged. Water when the top 1–2 inches of soil are dry during the growing season. Reduce watering slightly in winter.
Plant in rich, well-drained loamy or sandy soil. Fertilize regularly during the growing season (spring–fall) with a balanced granular fertilizer. In NE Florida, protect from frost — container culture allows plants to be moved indoors during rare freezes.
