Hibiscus laevis
Fresh this week. Last restocked Mar 11.
Halberdleaf Rosemallow (Hibiscus laevis) is a native North American perennial wildflower of wetland edges and stream margins, recognized by its distinctive halberd-shaped leaves. It produces large, showy pink flowers with a deep crimson center, typically 3–4 inches across, from midsummer through fall. The tall, upright stems make it a striking addition to rain gardens and naturalized wet areas. Starting at $9.95.

Halberdleaf Rosemallow thrives in full sun and tolerates part sun; at least 6 hours of direct sun daily produces the best flowering in NE Florida.
This native wetland perennial prefers consistently moist to wet soils and is ideal for rain gardens, pond margins, and low-lying areas; it will tolerate brief dry periods once established but performs best with reliable moisture.
Plant in rich, moist soil — clay, loam, or organically amended sandy soils all work. As a native Florida wildflower it needs little supplemental fertilizer; a light application of balanced fertilizer in spring is sufficient. Dies back to the ground in winter and re-sprouts reliably in spring.
