Hydrolea corymbosa
Fresh this week. Last restocked Mar 9.
Skyflower (Hydrolea corymbosa) is a Florida-native wetland perennial producing brilliant sky-blue flower clusters against lance-shaped foliage from summer through fall. It is ideal for pond edges, rain gardens, and water features in NE Florida, thriving in saturated or seasonally flooded soils. Starting at $7.95.
Grows in full sun to part shade; in NE Florida's intense summer heat, afternoon shade helps prevent leaf scorch when plants are not in standing water. Full sun is fine at pond margins where roots stay submerged.
A true aquatic-edge perennial that thrives in saturated soils or shallow standing water (up to a few inches deep). Plant at pond margins, rain garden low points, or in submerged containers in water features.
Tolerates sandy, loamy, or mucky soils as long as they stay consistently wet to saturated. No supplemental fertilizer is needed in nutrient-rich wet sites; light slow-release fertilizer can be used in contained water garden setups.
