Carphephorus corymbosus
Fresh this week. Last restocked Mar 11.
A herbaceous perennial wildflower endemic to peninsular Florida, arising from a basal rosette of flat, linear leaves and producing an erect unbranched stem topped by large, flat-topped corymbs of bright pink to lavender tubular disk florets. Blooms late summer into fall. Starting at $9.95.
Requires full sun — at least 6 hours of direct light daily. In NE Florida's sandy pine flatwoods and scrub settings, full sun exposure is essential for flowering; even light shade will significantly reduce bloom production.
Highly drought tolerant once established in its preferred sandy soil; supplemental irrigation is rarely needed in NE Florida after the first season. Avoid wet or poorly drained sites.
Plant in dry, well-drained, infertile sandy soil — the conditions of its native pine flatwoods habitat. Do not fertilize; rich soil encourages weedy competitors and is not necessary for this adapted native wildflower.

Shares 5 of the same needs: full sun, low water, sandy, zone 9a hardiness, and pollinator-friendly.
