Active growing season.
Ideal planting window.
Retains foliage through winter.
Kangaroo fern thrives in partial to full shade; avoid direct afternoon sun in NE Florida, which scorches the glossy fronds. Bright indirect light or dappled shade under trees is ideal.
Keep soil consistently moist but never waterlogged. In NE Florida's summer heat, water regularly and maintain a layer of mulch to retain moisture; reduce watering slightly in cooler months.
Plant in well-drained, slightly acidic soil (pH 5.5–6.5) enriched with organic matter. As an epiphytic fern, it benefits from a light balanced liquid fertilizer once monthly during active growth spring through fall.
