Delphinium
Fresh this week. Last restocked Jun 25.
Delphinium is a cool-season annual in Northeast Florida (Zone 9b), grown for its tall spikes of intensely colored flowers in blue, purple, pink, and white from late winter through spring. Plant in fall for best results and remove when summer heat sets in; it cannot withstand Florida's heat and humidity and is not hardy in Zone 9b. Starting at $6.95.

Grow Delphinium in full sun to partial shade; at least 6 hours of sun daily is ideal. In Northeast Florida, plant in fall or early winter for blooms in late winter through spring before summer heat causes plants to decline.
Water regularly to keep soil consistently moist but well-drained; delphiniums do not tolerate drought or waterlogging. In Florida's mild winters, water during dry spells and ensure good drainage to prevent crown and root rot.
Plant in well-amended, fertile, well-drained loamy soil. Fertilize at planting and monthly during the cool growing season with a balanced fertilizer. Remove plants when summer heat arrives — they do not survive Florida summers.
